Homelessness
If one could look into the eyes of a hungry child, see the pain on a mother's face, and feel the brokenness of a father's heart, one would profoundly realize and understand the absolute necessity of breaking the cycle of long-term homelessness.
For over twelve years, while serving the homeless in the seacoast area, we have seen mothers without food for their children, families living in cars, fathers degraded, and the greatest tragedy of all: children who fall pray to the snare of generational homelessness.
Although there are emergency shelters to get people off the streets at night, and various other programs designed to address some of the immediate needs of the homeless, they do not address the generational cycle of homelessness. New Beginnings Transitional Training Program (NBTTP) is a program developed specifically to break the cycle of chronic homelessness, leading to sustainable independent living.

The Boutique
The mission of Seeds of Faith (the parent organization of New Beginnings) is "To provide relief to the poor, the distressed or underprivileged, to help and nurture those in need, to feed the hungry, to bring hope to the hopeless, and to make a difference one life at a time." As a cottage industry of Seeds of Faith, New Beginnings Thrift Boutique is a revenue stream and vocational tool for our future vision of a transitional housing program for homeless families and single women here on the Seacoast. The Boutique is solely run and supported by more than 25 of the most incredible, supportive, happy, hardworking volunteers from our community.
Another purpose of the Boutique is to provide opportunities for residents in NBTTP to learn job skills and/or provide an avenue for them to sell their crafts to earn profit. In addition, residents will regain their sense of self-esteem and dignity by volunteering in the thrift store. The shop experience is designed to foster personal growth, responsibility, and independence. Most importantly, this training will build self-esteem and self confidence, giving residents the tools to work toward self-sufficiency.
When the NBTTP is underway, residents will have a chance to work and/or sell their crafts in the store. Currently, the Program is in the planning stages, but all proceeds from the sales at the boutique go toward the fund to buy and remodel a home for the purpose. In less than one year's operation, we've raised more than $10,000 toward this goal! (This revenue is combined with other donations, and our goal is now almost 1/5th complete).
